SMB Credits 0 issue

It has been observed that many times DataForesight tool is not able to connect to the system using SMB option and the log file mentions SMB credit 0.

This can happen due to below points

  • Invalid credentials
  • Bad Password
  • The credentials supplied does not have admin privileges
  • The credentials are used to force password login
  • The credentials are not in the Administrator groups
  • Domain policy blocking the access

The solution to this is to create a test credentials with admin privileges and assign the user to Administrator group / Local Administrator group and then try to login.
